Terms of Service

DeskBud is a desktop pet application. The application itself is free to download and includes some free pet content; additional pet content can be acquired within the app. All rights, title and copyright in the software belong to the developer; users are granted a limited, personal, non-commercial license only (see Section 1 of the License & Privacy Statement).

This service is provided and operated by an individual developer. Transactions are processed by third-party payment service providers officially partnered with DeskBud. The developer does not collect or store any payment credentials, passwords, or identity information related to transactions.

Available pet content and applicable acquisition options are as displayed in the app.

All acquirable content is offered on a one-time basis: once acquired, it remains available on your personal devices for long-term use, with no recurring charges and no auto-renewal of any kind (subject to these Terms and the license terms).

Where applicable, payments are made within the app through officially partnered payment channels. Available payment methods (such as credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, or Google Pay) are as displayed on the checkout page. You must use a payment account that you are authorized to use.

• After a successful payment, the corresponding pet content is downloaded, installed and activated automatically within the app — no manual steps required;
• Activation only verifies whether the local device is entitled to the content, and is not linked to any personal identity data;
• Acquired content is stored locally on your device and works offline. When you change or reinstall your device, you can restore previously acquired content within the app.

DeskBud content is delivered instantly as digital goods. Refunds are handled as follows:

• If payment succeeds but the content cannot be delivered or activated, a full refund is available upon verification;
• Duplicate charges or payment errors are refunded in full, to the original payment method, upon verification;
• For content successfully delivered and activated, refunds are not available for change of mind, except where the content is materially not as described, or is verified to be unusable and cannot be fixed through updates;
• Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method, generally within 7 business days of confirmation; actual arrival times depend on the payment provider.

To request a refund, contact the developer by email (see below) and include your order time and payment method. We will respond within 3 business days.

You agree not to use the software or official content for any unlawful purpose or in a way that infringes others' rights; not to decompile, reverse-engineer or modify the software; and not to redistribute, resell or commercially exploit official content (see Section 1 of the License & Privacy Statement). The developer may terminate service to users who violate these rules.

The software and official content are provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect or consequential losses or data loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the service.

Service interruptions or delays caused by force majeure, payment provider failures, or network operator issues do not constitute a breach of these Terms.

The developer may revise these Terms from time to time. Revised terms take effect when published on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the service after publication constitutes acceptance of the revised terms; material changes will be highlighted through reasonable means such as in-app notices.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Disputes shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation; failing that, they shall be submitted to a competent people's court where the developer is located. Transactions completed through overseas payment channels are additionally protected by the applicable consumer terms of the relevant payment provider.
